I rarely take off work unless I’m really sick or E.B. is sick, but I always set aside two personal days in May to attend a couple of events at E.B.’s school.  With this school year seeming much longer than usual, it felt great to leave work Thursday afternoon knowing I had an extra day to spend time with my family.

Thursday evening we headed to Lost Pizza.  Not only does this place have the best pizza in town, they also have a VW bus inside the restaurant that the kids can play in.  It has a TV inside and pillows and is always full of kids having a great time.  It’s the sort of place you always run into someone you know.

It has amazing Mississippi Delta infused décor, with a little “hippy” on the side.  Concert posters, antique and vintage items, and crazy cool art cover every available inch of the walls.  It’s a feast for the eyes as well as the stomach!

E.B. is also crazy about the Wii they have there.

They also give the kids pizza dough to play with.  E.B. said this looked like a brain.  I concur!

Friday was full of May Day Play Day fun at E.B.’s school.  This takes place at the Delta State University football practice field and it’s full of fun and games.  I did an hour of volunteering in the concessions stand and then spent the rest of the time watching E.B. compete in his chosen activities.  He had a blast and I came home sunburned.  That’s the first year that has happened since he’s been in school.

I can’t get over how grown he looks in this picture.  He’s definitely not a little boy anymore!

My husband cleaned the car and made us amazing meals all weekend.  I don’t know what I would do without him during the school year.  He makes it so much easier for me to be all.the.things, even though he works very hard all week.

Our fun weekend just reminded me how much I am really looking forward to being off all summer so I can spend more time with my people.
