If you come here often, you’re at the right place, I promise.

After agonizing (seriously) for the better part of a year or more, I finally decided to change my blog’s name from Mommy Cracked to Read. Write. Mom!. Besides the occasional weird looks I would get when telling people about my blog’s former name, I just feel like this name fits me better. I love to read and write, but my greatest joy is being a mom. I’ve also found myself slowing down a little here in the blog world. While school is in, I just can’t keep up the blogging pace like I would like to sometimes. I’m learning I have to become a little more intentional with my spare time. I’ve found myself reading more and having a real craving to write. Not blog, but to just let thoughts flow freely on paper. It may never lead to anything serious, but it’s an amazing outlet that is really therapeutic for me right now. I’ve also realized that I have been too caught up into turning this blog into something it’s not. I started with no intentions other than sharing my life, and I’m finally ready to get back to basics.

I’m sure going to miss my little shoe and egg, though. Change is hard for me. I’m really trying to be open to the possibilities here.

I don’t plan any major changes to this blog other than the name. I am going to try to share more posts about books I’ve read and a little more about my job as a children’s librarian.

So, I hope you will still stick with me. And also? Greg at Engine 1 Media designed my new blog header and he is amazing. I highly recommend him if you need a fresh, new look for your blog.

I’m going to change my blog name, too. LOL I even bought a whole new domain.

Honestly, Mandy, I am SHOCKED that you made this change. Having designed for you in the past, you not having the shoe and egg in your header is a bit weird. 😛 But good for you for naming your blog something that fits you better. That’s exactly the same reason I’m changing mine. Are you going to buy a new domain as well?

Hey Shan! I know, right? I can’t believe I did this, either. *deep breaths* LOL! I did buy a new domain, but trying not to mess with it too much so as not to mess up my current feed and all of that. baby steps.

Have you decided on a name yet?

Yep, I will be Stream of Sarcasm very soon. LOL

I have a way to import my database and change all my links automatically. Someone gave me a script to use and it worked perfectly. I’m just waiting for my theme to be updated before I do my redesign.

I really think if you’re going to change it, change it all at once. It’s like ripping off a band-aid — it hurts less when you pull it off quickly. LOL

I just don’t want to lose all my Feedburner subscribers. Will it do that?

I love your new blog name!!! So YOU!!

I liked your former blog name but I think you have to do what’s best for you. I wish you all the best with moving forward and focusing on what you want.

Thank you, Terra! It’s definitely going to take some getting used to. I’m kind of sad, but felt like I needed to do this.
