We apparently had Italian food on the brain this past weekend if these pictures are any proof. We made a quick trip to Memphis on Friday and stopped at The Olive Garden on our way home to have a late lunch. And then I fell in love with this.
It’s Olive Garden’s bruschetta. And the recipe must be mine.
On Saturday night we went to the Italian Festival here in our small town. We arrived that evening, so we missed out on the great food, but we did get to check out the amazing booths each participating family sets up and I was most impressed with this one:

Oh. My. Goodness. I hate that I wasn’t born italian, but lucky me always had a BFF growing up who’s parents/grandparents were actual immigrants… so I got to get a lot of that old world stuff. Ummmm. I’m starving just thinking about it.

How I love Olive Garden. Is it considered authentic?

I totally should have been Italian…..and even though I married into an Italian family, they don’t cook so much anymore….it’s sad!

When you read what passed for “Italian” that we had Saturday night, you’ll laugh!
We went to the Italian festival last year but missed it this year. In retrospect, missing it was a mistake. 🙂
