Getting the Chores Done

Spread the love

It felt so good to get all the big chores done over the past two days.  I love when my house is clean and uncluttered, and this will help me focus my attention on other things this week.  I still need to change the sheets on our bed, but that will get done.  I got all of the dirty clothes washed yesterday and then discovered this as I was about to get Young Man to take the basket up the stairs for me.

Really Jake???  Haha!  He has never done this before, and he was so cute that I just let him spend a couple of hours sleeping there until he was ready to go out for the night.  I did remove the top shirt he was lying on to wash again. Maybe he needs his own little basket to cuddle up in?  We shall see!

It was time to dig out a new candle for the kitchen, so I chose the Island Margarita 3-wick from Bath & Body Works.  I think I told y’all in my last post that I have a slight obsession with all things Bath & Body Works now.  But, never fear!  I have found a blog called Life Inside the Page that gets the inside scoop on upcoming sales, so I always check that.  Sometimes what seems to be a good sale is really not a good sale when you can get it cheaper at another time if you’re patient.  So, that’s how I attempt to be frugal with my purchases from there.  For instance, yesterday they had a sale on single-wick candles for $5.95.  It’s a great price, but I decided to pass on it because I don’t need any candles right now, and I prefer the three-wick candles because they have a stronger throw.

Anyway, the candle smells so great, and I love having a little island summer flare in the home since I won’t be heading to any islands anytime soon. Haha!  I can also vouch for the hand soap and anti-bacterial hand gel in this scent.

I thought I would also share my latest guilty pleasure with you.

cadbury chocolate bar

I discovered this while Hubby and I were on our last road trip to the doctor’s office.  My sugar was running a little low, so I picked up one of these.  Fruit and nuts in chocolate??  SIGN ME UP!  It would be so easy to devour this whole bar, but it is a pretty big bar of chocolate, and I do have to watch my sugar intake.  The neat thing about this is that it is made up of little individual squares you can break off to have a little bite at a time, so that’s what I do.  I also store it in the refrigerator to keep it fresh and from melting.

canteloup

One thing we have been unapologetically eating around here is cantaloup!  If I could grow cantaloupes, cherry tomatoes, and cucumbers, I would have it made!  And I know I can.  I’m afraid I have missed my opportunity this season, but I can definitely plan better for next year.  I think my biggest issue would be keeping the birds away from everything.  However, I enjoy feeding the birds.  Must do more research about this!

Well, that’s all I have for today.  Hope you have a wonderful Wednesday!

I’ve been in the decluttering mood and have been tackling getting rid of old books and cleaning kitchen drawers. Jake is very cute and looks nice and cozy on your basket of clean clothes.

Love the picture of Jake sleeping on the clean laundry! Glad you got all your cleaning done. 🙂
I, too, like the Cadbury’s fruit and almonds bar.

Such a sweet Jake pic – can you blame a kitty for loving nice warm yummy smelling fresh laundry? Lol So cute! We are kindred souls in the Bath and Body dept. Matt and I are going this week! 😁
And we’re loving the fruits of summer over here too! The peaches and cherries have been stellar. Love that about summer!!
    Blessings. xoxo

I love Bath and Body candles, so I’m checking out that site! And I’ll also have to check that scent.

I will have to look for the margarita candle next time I am in a store. I buy things occasionally there, but usually try to wait for the 2 semi annual sales. Have a good day and stay cool!
