Welcome to the January 2019 Blog Income Report! I decided to start documenting my blog income for a few reasons. Mainly, I just love reading blog income report posts from other bloggers. Will you see big incomes reported here? Sorry, not happening. However, I will share how I earn money blogging and what my monthly expenses are, as well as the traffic reports on my blog.
JANUARY 2019 BLOG INCOME REPORT:
Earnings:
$27.54- Adsense ads
$27.55- Amazon Affiliate
Grand Total: $55.09
I thought it was really weird how both of these earnings were just a penny away from being the same total! Along with earning money, I also have expenses for things I use to keep this blog going on a monthly basis. Here are my expenses for January.
Expenses:
$5.00- Statcounter– I use this to track my blog visit count.
$6.99- Easy Product Displays– This arranges products you feature on your blog into really pretty displays and inserts affiliate codes in. The ideas are endless! You can see it in action on this post.
$9.95- Hosting- My blog is hosted through Hostgator and it always has been. I’ve never had an issue and their customer service really is amazing.
$29.98- Tailwind– I contribute my recent jump in blog traffic to Tailwind. It’s an amazing platform that lets you schedule your posts to Pinterest and also share posts from others. It’s a fantastic way to keep your content constantly circulating on Pinterest, which means more eyes on your content, as well as traffic!
About Tailwind
Tailwind also has cheaper plans, but I wanted to really double down on using this and add more features to my account. It’s paying off in the traffic numbers for me and I highly recommend it! You can use this link for a free month of Tailwind!
Picmonkey– OK, so I paid for a subscription for this yearly, and I’ve already paid this but it’s another tool I use on my blog.
Grand Total: $51.92
FINAL TOTAL
If you subtract expenses from income, I made a whopping $3.17 in January on this blog.
You may wonder what’s even the point of blogging here if you’re not making any real money? Well, at one point I did. It’s just that making money here isn’t the driving force of my blog anymore. If I can break even, that’s fine with me.
Of course more money would be great, but it’s just not a priority at this point in my life. The main reason I still blog is that this is my creative outlet and I just love it. The income just ebbs and flows and I’m OK with that because this isn’t my full time job.
TRAFFIC NUMBERS
17,678- Visitors
20, 240 Page views
I’m pretty pleased with these numbers, because that’s a little over 5000 more visitors than in December!
So, there you have it! A real, honest look at what this little slice of the blogiverse makes in a month.

Now, this is a realistic income report! Thanks for sharing, Mandy! I am thinking with that pageview count you are not far away from qualifying for the MediaVine threshold of 25k monthly sessions? I think that would bump up your profit quite a bit, even for the same pageview count. Best of luck!

Thanks Marissa! I’m definitely aiming towards joining Mediavine. I just keep falling a little short of that 25k monthly session requirement. I slacked a whole lot this past month, so I can;t blame anyone but myself. Hoping to get back on track and see that goal sometime this year!
