Figuring out how to help preschoolers learn shapes can be tough. I can remember when my son was just turning three and when I began working with him at home to learn shapes, colors, and numbers. I wondered how in the world I could teach him these things without confusing him. He caught on pretty quickly and we had fun while he was learning. By the time he started preschool that August, he went in knowing all of those things we worked on and he absolutely thrived in his little learning environment. Are you ready to start teaching your child about shapes? If so, these free printable shape activities will certainly help your little learner recognize specific shapes and have fun in the process.
My son also had a talking shape puzzle very similar to this one from Melissa & Doug that we also used for some hands-on shape recognition practice.
The shape sorting cube is also another fun toy we incorporated into our learning. My son got really good at this and loved to see how fast he could get all of the wooden shapes into their openings.
