It’s been a rough couple of weeks around our little home. My daddy passed away on March 31. He was diagnosed a few years ago with Myelodysplasia which progressed to leukemia in the last few months. He never let on to just about anyone that he was sick and most people were very shocked to learn of his passing. One thing I can say is that he was very tough and despite his diagnosis, he lived life to the very fullest until about a week before he passed. We were very fortunate that we had some very good time together as a family the last four days leading up to his death and he got to see many, many family members and friends in those days. Nothing was left un-finished or unsaid and I am so thankful for this. He got to be home and went as comfortably as possible, exactly the way he wanted. I can honestly say that watching him pass is one of the very hardest things I have ever had to do in life, but I am glad I was there. He was so brave and I long for the day when I can see my daddy again.

Our friends and family have been truly wonderful to us and I don’t know how we would get through these days without them. My daddy was a very private person and would probably cringe that I am writing this, but he was also one of my very biggest supporters of my blogging and writing. I have so much more I want to write about him, but words are just hard to come by right now. I know in time I will be able to write more about this wonderful man that was the best earthly father to me. I am blessed I was his daughter.
