I love my new job so much, and I stay so super busy that I apologize for not updating with personal posts as much as I used to. I plan to do better on that soon. I find myself making tons of ideas for posts in my head throughout the day and then usually forget them by the time I have a chance to sit down. So, on that note…
I had my first Hobby Lobby experience a couple of weeks ago. I live in a small town, so the nearest store is over two hours away. I was utterly amazed at ALL the CRAFTY STUFF. It was like a crafter’s crack house. I didn’t even make it all over the store because there was so much to look at. It was also really, really crowded. I’m sure it’s probably a much more enjoyable shopping experience during a week day. It made me wish I was crafty.
Also on this special weekend trip, we ate at Olive Garden. OK, stop laughing. That’s a real treat when the nearest one is two hours away. E.B. declared that his Shrimp Mezzaluna was the very best meal he had eaten in all of his whole eight years. He also hugged me at the table and told me I was the Best Mom Ever. Do you hear that Olive Garden? You made me a hero!
There was also a quick trip to Target for a new shirt because I dropped a bit of food on mine at Olive Garden. I promise I didn’t do it just to be able to go to Target. However, I did find a shirt that worked in a pinch, some new bronzing powder, AND some Affresh to clean my washing machine. Can you even STAND all of that major splurgin’!??
We also discovered a new little country store in the next county over on the way. I had to use the bathroom and was almost in a slight panic because the nearest town with proper facilities would be over 30 miles away. My husband spotted a little country store in the great big town (I’m sooo kidding) of Minter City, Mississippi. Go ahead and look that up on the map. Nothing but farm land. Anyway, I saw the front of the store and immediately cringed. I could only imagine what was on the other side of the door in that rustic little country store with gas pumps so old that I remember as a child. However, I pretty much had no choice, so I bravely stepped inside and found…..the cleanest bathroom EVER and….AND…..the cleanest store that served hot lunches and was just as cute and quaint as could be. I was SO relieved! I was seriously impressed. And? If you should ever find yourself in Minter City, Mississippi and needing to make a stop, I highly recommend Sanders Grocery.
I also got to introduce the husband to Kohl’s and he’s a big, big fan now. I’m pretty sure I will never have to beg him to stop there the next time we are near one.
