This morning I woke up with a broken blood vessel in my eye.
Ok, y’all. I seriously don’t know what my issue is with bumps on my eyeballs! Just this past year, I had this:
And it eventually went away.
Umm. Scary!
According to Dr. Google, it’s probably just a subconjunctival hemmorhage, or a broken blood vessel in the eye. It’s painless and actually starting to go away. Which is a darn good thing, because if you find yourself with this condition, I advise you NOT to google a picture of a subconjunctival hemmorhage because it will only scare the daylights out of you. Apparently, this redness can spread all the way across the eyeball. *shudder* I have never had a broken blood vessel in the eye, so this is certainly a first for me.
I have along history with strange things happening in my eyes, starting with corneal ulcers when I was 13. That was a long and frustrating treatment experience that I never want to live through again. I visited no less than four eye doctors during that time before we finally found a great one who figured out what was going on. This man literally saved my sight. He has been my eye doctor ever since. I am so thankful my parents made the decision to send me there to be treated.
And so, that’s my latest installment of “I have ANOTHER bump on my eyeball”. It was also a great chance to show off my dry skin and fine lines and wrinkles. Bonus! Maybe this broken blood vessel in my eye won’t last for long.

I’ve actually had the same thing happen to me a few times this year. I asked people and they said it was the same thing, broken blood vessels. A couple people have even mentioned that it can be associated with high blood pressure. Luckily, I haven’t had it happen recently. I doubt it’s an emergency but definitely something to keep an eye on. (pun intended)

Eek! That happened to my son once. It went away after a few days, thankfully!
