Can you believe it’s back-to-school time already? E.B. will be starting first grade next week and I’m in full mommy-mode making sure he has all of his supplies, uniforms, and everything else he needs to start the new school year off on the right foot. One important item on our shopping list was a backpack which is required to hold all of his folders and books he will be bringing home each day.
Coleman has a new line of backpacks called Mad Dog Gear, aimed at elementary- and middle-school-aged children. The packs have plenty of great organization features inside, and the “deluxe” models include a laptop sleeve for up to 15” computers.
We were sent the Deluxe Bungee Backpack to check out, and I am so impressed with the quality and the well thought out organizational options that went into making this backpack.

If you are concerned about protecting your children’s backs from injury as a result of carrying a heavy backpack, I just want to assure you that this backpack offers so much extra padding and support in the straps and on the back of the backpack. I was so impressed with this, as I have seen many backpacks that are very thin. There are several zippered pockets that will hold small electronics and pencils, pens, and markers. One feature I thought was really impressive was the 15” laptop sleeve included with the backpack. If your child will be carrying a laptop to school, this is a great way to protect that. My son loves his new backpack and can’t wait to show it off at school!
