There are several television shows I enjoyed watching while growing up: The Cosby Show, Who’s The Boss, and The Golden Girls. However, I have to say Designing Women is, hands down, one of my very favorites, and I love that I can still catch re-runs of the show. My favorite character on Designing Women was the outspoken, yet always classy Julia Sugarbaker, played by the amazing Dixie Carter. They just don’t make good television like this anymore, it seems.

Remember when TV shows empowered women and gave us GOOD role models? Now we have things like Teen Mom, Bad Girls Club, Jersey Shore and the like influencing our younger generation.
The people that will be responsible for our care in our senior years are the ones watching that trash. Anyone think they’ll just put us on ice floes and walk away when we can no longer take care of ourselves? I do.
