Besides not being able to enjoy all of the amazingly sweet treats during the holidays (but yeah…sometimes I do sneak a little), one thing I dearly love is spiced apple cider, but it’s also full of sugar. My mom makes her own mix of it, and of course I think it’s the best, but since it’s loaded with sugar, it’s not something I can drink very often.
Yesterday while cruising the beverage aisle in the grocery store, I spotted Alpine’s Sugar Free Spiced Apple Cider. Discovering something that I love in a sugar free form always makes me excited, but a little part of me always figures it probably won’t taste just as good. That’s a problem I find with a lot of sugar free foods…the taste just isn’t the same as the sugary-laden versions. I decided to purchase it anyway, and I am so glad I did because it was amazing!
On thing I did do is to add a couple of packets of Splenda to my drink. I like my drinks really sweet. But overall, this sugar-free spiced apple cider was fabulous and I am so excited I don’t have to miss out on my favorite drink during the holidays!

That sounds really good. May have to look for it since I am not in love with the Hot Apple Cider for the Keurig. Will have to write down the name to keep with me in my grocery store travels.

I have been drinking this stuff for years, ever since my aunt introduced me to it number of years ago when I had the flu. And I agree, the sugar free version is awesome, tho I am not one much for too sweet stuff, so I dont need to add the extra sweetner. THAT said, I live in a home where I am a live in caregiver for an older woman with diabetes, who just doesnt care that she does, lol. So I have found some tricks to keep her sugar down, one of them is agave nectar. And at the Amish store I found Agave Blueberry syrup, she puts it on her waffles, and is in heaven!!
