Facebook Pet Peeves

Spread the love

When I first joined Facebook I thought it was an amazing thing. I was able to reconnect with old friends and see what people I hadn’t seen in a while were up to. Now, I have a love/hate relationship with the site. I love that at any given moment I know exactly what is going on in the world around me, but sometimes it’s just too much information.

Thanks to Facebook…

I now know what everyone is eating for supper. And? I don’t care.

I see why we were never close friends.

Realize some people must live sad little lives to have to constantly brag about their vacations/cars/houses/______ (insert material item here).

I see where your kid gets it from. The apple really doesn’t fall far…(And speaking of kids, one picture of them a day is enough. Really. I promise.)

I know where you are all the time. Some people really abuse the Check-In feature.

I know the score of any football/basketball/baseball game at any time and can tell if you are happy about that score. This also goes for little league stuff your kid participates in. Every once in a while…ok. Every day? No thanks.

I can only imagine how much time you spend on Facebook games. Your constant begging for animals/crops/food/etc. must be exhausting for you. Because it is for me.

Can see that snopes.com would be a real time saver for you. And save us all from the 20 OMG!!!!-crisis-in-the-making-OMG!!!! Everyone copy and paste this or zombies will attack us all!!!!!!!! posts you make a day.

I know you feel 98% sexy today. And. I. Don’t. Care.

I know what candidate you support, and I’m all for freedom of speech. But your over-the-top campaigning only gets you hidden or deleted on my page. Goodbye!

You never have an original thought. The fact that all your posts come from Status Shuffle confirms it.

I’m sure you might be wondering why I don’t just leave Facebook. Well, I like to read breaking news updates and I actually care about the things going on in most of my friends’ lives, especially those that live far away now. I have taken steps to hide/delete the repeat offenders of the things above that annoy me and it is getting a little better.

But surely someone else out there has felt this way at some point? What is YOUR Facebook pet peeve?

Now if you’ll excuse me…I must go upload pictures of my kid to Facebook while trying to level up in Farmville annnnnd cook a mouth-watering five course meal before we leave on our fabulous cruise. Mwah!

GREAT list. I also get super annoyed at the open ended drama posts …. like where they are talking sh*t to one particular person, and no one else knows what the heck they are talking about. So then you get 26 “what’s wrong” comments and crap. Ugh. Just keep your DRAMA off facebook… like Stacy said – get a therapist LOL

The only thing that really bothers me from your list is the false postings that could easily be researched. I’ve corrected them in the past and people usually get mad at me for it, haha. On the other hand, I like hearing about what people are having for dinner because it gives me new ideas and I like hearing about vacations and seeing photos of kids.

I totally agree! My biggest pet peeve though is when girls/women/ladies do their “I’m so fat, give me attention” thing on Facebook. Yes, we get it… you’re insecure and will only feel better after 1200 of your friends respond with “Oh no, you’re so beautiful blah blah blah.” Go talk to a shrink, lady, I have my own problems.

    O haha! I couldn’t agree more!
We move around alot- so I love being able to stay connected with people, and it has been a great way to keep my family updated on our happenings, but yea, its a love-hate thing for sure. About once a month I tell myself to just delete it- but then I end up getting a sweet message from a cousin….I guiltily stay. 🙂

UGH I agree with you on these things. I hate the constant Status Shuffles (once in awhile is okay, but every update?).

My big pet peeve is when I get “invited” to a gazillion home parties – if I ordered from everyone, I would be broke. It just really bothers me and I get so many of them.
