A Hot Mess

We’ve reached that point during the summer in the Mississippi Delta where it’s unmercifully hot. 100 degrees in the shade at 6 PM and the heat index is anywhere from 105-115 degrees. All you can do on those kinds of days is stay indoors, stay cool, and keep hydrated. Naturally, staying indoors and bonding with the air conditioner is not something anyone would have to beg me to do. However, just because I am forced to stay indoors most of the time now does not in any way mean I am not staying active and having a productive summer.

Lifting these? Totally counts as exercise, right?

And these? Just keep jumping out of the freezer and into my mouth. Over and over.

And one can never watch too many America’s Next Top Model reruns.

Ditto for Beverly Hills 90210.  Which is a great thing, actually, because our cable TV stations didn’t pick this show up until it was in its 2nd or 3rd year, so I’m catching up on what I was deprived of in the early 90’s.

So you see, I will not be deterred from enjoying my summer just because of a little heat.

And how is your summer?

HA! I only watched the later seasons of 90210 when it first aired so I am COMPLETELY addicted to the reruns on SoapNet too. Ah, the good old days when Kelly still had a personality, Brandon had a car named Mondale, and David wasn’t a raging jerk.

It’s been a scorching hot summer here, too. I’ve been drinking tons of homemade lemonade. 🙂
